As most of our readers know, Michael Grabell has been closely tracking stimulus spending “from bills to building” for ProPublica and ShovelWatch.org. Steve Coll, a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and writer of the "Think Tank" blog, is also following the stimulus project for the New Yorker magazine. In this BloggingHeads segment, the two discuss how the record spending plan is playing out in the heartland of America, whether it constitutes transformational change in American policies, and the role of watchdogs in following this massive project.
