Thanks for the storey.
I never understood why this effort wasn’t part of the Voice of America. Anyway, as you reported, this was a poorly executed effort, but even for the US government this was very poorly managed. I can’t imagine that no one in management was fluent in Arabic. It couldn’t be that hard to find management who spoke Arabic.
Seems to me that they should just close down the effort and save taxpayor money.

First of all if the news station is going to be within America’s borders(Springfield,Virgina) and it’s paid for by U.S. taxpayers it has a right to air anything it wants, that are in the legal bounds of the FCC regs. Freedom of speech. No matter how crazy that speech may be. And two, if I as a U.S. citizen is paying for this news station why can’t I watch it in the U.S.?

I can’t believe they fired that reporter. He never called for violence. Former president Jimmy Carter calls the current situation apartheid. Al-Hurra is doomed to fail if it can’t learn what being unbiased is.
