Tuesday, Aug. 5
The Government Accountability Office plans to release a financial report on the Iraqi government’s budget. The GAO recently released reports on Iraq reconstruction progress (PDF) and oversight (PDF).
Wednesday, Aug. 6
1:45 p.m.—The American Enterprise Institute hosts a forum called “The Collapse of the World Trade Organization (WTO) Doha Round Trade Talks: Implications and Future Options.” The featured speaker will be Warren Maruyama, the general counsel for the Office of the United States Trade Representative. Friday, Aug. 8
12 p.m.—On the day of the opening ceremonies for the Beijing Olympics, the Center for American Progress hosts an event on “Sports Doping and the Dawn of the Age of Enhancement” that will feature bioethicist Arthur L. Caplan. Video will be posted after the event.
