On Anniversary of Katrina, CNN Looks at Post-Storm Violence

Tonight CNN’s Anderson Cooper will examine the vigilante violence that followed Hurricane Katrina and the current federal probe into alleged hate crimes against African Americans. It’s a story ProPublica reporter A.C. Thompson helped break in The Nation magazine—with support from The Nation Institute and other nonprofit journalism organizations—and is continuing to explore. CNN spoke to Thompson about the attacks, as well as people on both sides of the gunfire. Anderson Cooper 360° airs at 10 p.m. and 1 a.m. EST.
