ProPublica’s A.C. Thompson on NPR’s ‘Fresh Air’

ProPublica’s A.C. Thompson appears on NPR’s “Fresh Air” Wednesday (5 p.m. Eastern) to discuss the investigation into police shootings in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.

Thompson will discuss what happened on the Danziger Bridge – where officers shot six people, killing two -- and the cover-up that New Orleans police are accused of. The deaths on the Danziger Bridge and that of Henry Glover are at the center of “Law & Disorder,” an ongoing investigation by reporters from ProPublica, The Times-Picayune of New Orleans and PBS' “Frontline.”

A “Frontline” documentary about what the New Orleans police did and didn't do in the days following Katrina will air Aug. 25.

A.C….great job on Fresh Air.  That was a riveting piece of journalism; it’s amazing how things look after the flood waters recede and things return to a civilized pace.  Probably for the people involved, and those of us looking in from the outside.
