Our editors’ picks of the latest investigative stories around the Web:

  • The Center for Responsive Politics found that congressional disclosure forms filed by lobbyists are often “bare-bones,” making it hard to determine how special interests are trying to shape policy. At the Senate Office of Public Records, CRP found “nearly 19,000 reports [since 1998] totaling at least $565 million in payments to lobbying firms for activity that was almost entirely unaccounted for.”
