- Citigroup, which has has reaped $45 billion in bailout money, is planning to spend about $10 million on new offices for top executives, reports Bloomberg News. Citi told Bloomberg: “Based on estimates made when the project was initiated, we expect to generate savings in the next few years well in excess of the project costs.”
- The Center for Responsive Politics found that congressional disclosure forms filed by lobbyists are often “bare-bones,” making it hard to determine how special interests are trying to shape policy. At the Senate Office of Public Records, CRP found “nearly 19,000 reports [since 1998] totaling at least $565 million in payments to lobbying firms for activity that was almost entirely unaccounted for.”
