ProPublica Named Finalist for Seven ONA Awards

The Online News Association has named ProPublica a finalist for seven Online Journalism Awards, which honor excellence in digital storytelling and distribution. This year, judges emphasized how newsrooms engage their audiences, with a focus on new digital tools, distributions channels and content platforms.

Killing the Colorado, a collaboration with Matter, is a finalist for explanatory reporting.

Reliving Agent Orange, reported in partnership with the Virginian-Pilot, is a finalist for topical reporting.

Surgeon Scorecard is a finalist for the University of Florida Award for Investigative Data Journalism.

The Color of Debt is a finalist for the Al Neuharth Innovation in Investigative Journalism Award, Medium.

How the Red Cross Raised Half a Billion Dollars for Haiti and Built Six Homes, reported with NPR, is a finalist for the Al Neuharth Innovation in Investigative Journalism Award, Large

Our series published with the New York Daily News, on improper uses of nuisance abatement actions by the New York Police Department, is a finalist for the Knight Award for Public Service.

And ProPublica’s site is a finalist for general excellence in online journalism.
