Photo of the Day: Oiled Booms

Today's photo depicts the seemingly ubiquitous booms being carted away once they have been soaked with oil on the beaches of Alabama. According to our latest update to our Gulf oil spill FAQ, when asked about the limited success of the booms, Coast Guard Adm. Thad Allen said it was a "vexing situation" and that "there is no good solution when oil enters marshland."
