Administration Takes Steps That Will Reduce Deportation Risk for Many Undocumented Immigrants

As the Obama administration tries to increase the number of criminals it deports, it’s lowering the risk of deportation for millions of undocumented immigrants who’ve lived in the country for long periods without committing crimes.

Learn to speak Mexican and some kind of Arabic/Muslim language and welcome to obmaworld.  Nobody is twisting obama’s arm, he is quite capable of enforcing the law and defending the constitution (you know the thing he swore due diligence and allegiance to protect and defend) he just doesn’t want to.

Now if you watch the puppet show in Aisle One, or overhere we have a story-teller stringing together some incredible facts.  It’s a 3-ring circus and Obama is the ringmaster.

The only people Obama seems to be interested in helping are the very people the majority of the country would like to see gone.

I’ve heard the Ellis Island song before.  The trouble comparing it with today is that people on Ellis Island came here lawfully/legally.  They did not sneak into the country under cover of night.  Try, try again, is their motto, if deported once they are like roaches, they just keep coming back.

But immigrant rights groups complain that 287(g) encourages ethnic profiling and targets people who have committed traffic violations and other minor crimes. Last year, ICE responded to those complaints by rewriting the 287(g) agreements to specify that the program is intended to target criminal undocumented immigrants. But the complaints have persisted and the Department of Homeland Security, ICE’s parent agency, is now reviewing the program.

BUT IMMIGRANT RIGHTS GROUPS COMPLAIN so ICE rewrote 287(g) agreements.

So I guess that means immigrant rights groups are the ones who get action.  Because there are just as many and more on the opposing side but the ICE rewrote it anyway in spite of the will of the citizens of this country and listened to the voices of people who are probably here illegally or who have family who is here illegally.

DOES THAT MAKE GOOD SENSE?

I thought this website was for smart, thinking people. How did some of you find this place?

Why so much hate? Do you think all this hate will make the world a better place?

Sarah Palin next president? That’s really what you idjits want? Do you understand what that looks like to the rest of the world? McDonald’s executive in Oklahoma, MAYBE.. but PRESIDENT? I mean c’mon folks. The coal miners in China are wagging their fingers at you even.

Be real careful what you’re wishing for here, for the rest of the world’s sake.

What with America’s love for invading other countries, why not simply conquer
Mexico ? There’s certainly a better motive to protect national security than say…Iraq.

Oh, and the irony of American companies
shipping jobs to China, is that since their standard of living has risen, (and thus wages) they’re now shipping jobs to India.

When I break the law I have to face the consequences,  Why is it any different for anyone else living under the same rules I live under.  If you are here illegally then you have to face the consequesces.  The only reason the numbers of undocumented are so high is because Congress FAILED to do their job for so many years the illegal population has skyrocketed and now we are faced with this hugh problem.  Now the politicians just want to dance around it because it got too big and no one except Jan Brewer (Arizona Gov) has the balls to step up to the plate and take the bull by the horns.
I would also like to ask the president of Mexico what he is doing to keep his fine citizens in their home?  He has absolutley no effin right to criticize the U.S. about our deportation or illegal immigrant policies.  If Mexico was doing it’s job in the first place many of it’s citizens would be making the choice to remain there instead of breaking the law by coming here illegally.
Mexico needs to step up to the plate!

When the Eisenhower admin. deported illegals it sent them to Nicaragua.  That would make it harder for them to come back.  The Ike admin. paid Nicaragua to accept them.  I have questions for people who believe that illegal immigration is ok.  Do you believe that there will ever be so many illegal immigrants that that resources of our society will be overwhelmed? If your answer is “yes,” then at what point should we stop allowing illegal immigration?  If your answer is “no.” then should we open our borders with no controls at all?

The hostility toward Mexicans shown by readers of this quality web site is truly astounding. I can only imagine what they think of Obama because he is black. Dear wingnuts, if you really want to stop illegals from coming here, the answer is simple, don’t hire them—and this includes Republicans and conservatives. If there were no jobs, illegals would stop coming here. lf you want to continue to hire them, don’t blame them for coming here to find work.

How is asking that the law be enforced, showing hostility towards Mexicans or implying that the person asking, dislikes Obama because he is black?

Dear Mr. Maloney: If you actually read any of the comments, you would find they show the blind, racial hatred that I think is at the heart of the matter. Let me quote directly from Anne: “Learn to speak Mexican and some kind of Arabic/Muslim language and welcome to obmaworld.”

From the article:
“Everything is being driven away from arresting people just for being here illegally or low-level criminals,” said a supervisory ICE agent who asked not to be identified for fear of reprisals from his superiors. “They’re using ‘cost savings’ and the ‘worst of the worst’ as their justification. But to me and those inside, it’s all politics. They want us to stay away from the illegals who are living and working here and not committing serious crimes until such time as they can get immigration reform passed.”

Gee, do you think Presidential administrations do things for political reasons.  Be still my heart.  Let’s get real.  They have a snowball’s chance in hell of passing immigration reform before 2013 (assuming the President is re-elected after the electorate gets a second taste of braindead Republican economic policies from 2010-2012).  The Senate still needs 60 votes to take a bathroom break.  Nothing will happen on immigration for years.

Andy Geller, PLEASE give me a break, I am SO TIRED of the insinuation that if I don’t like Obama its because he’s black (God forbid anyone realize he’s not doing a good job) and I am tired of being labeled a racist because I want others in this country with me to observe the same laws I do.

so you can take your racist ranting and shove it because YOU ANDY GELLER are the racist, not me.

I don’t care if the president is pink polka dots on a yellow background as long as he does his damn job which he is not and if he was he would understand ILLEGAL. What is up with all the ILLEGAL’S protesting in OUR COUNTRY and then OUR COUNTRY says shame on me and you.

Have any of you forgotten things like what happened in California, American citizens/kids being sent home from school for wearing tee-shirts with the American flag on them on Cinco de Mayo?

What is wrong with this country that tolerates that?  This is alice through the looking glass world imo.

Sep. 11, 2010, 11:24 p.m.

Andy Geller, people like you are destroying this country.  If the only thing you see is BLIND RACIST HATE when I suggest the very real likelihood that people need to assimilate into the Muslim world and ditto for the mexicans then you’re pretty deluded, ignorant, whatever.

You can’t make a phone call anywhere without listening to the push one for english and the “Para escuchar este mensaje en espaƱol, oprima tres”.  We’ve got a president INSISTING that we accept Muslim’s/Islam on a sacred place, that despite the fact that anyone with half a brain could figure out and ACCEPT the sensibilities of those who lost loved ones at Ground Zero, give THEM the benefit of the doubt,

but no, its all what we can give to the people who come here from another land and we are suppose to assimilate and accomodate them.

Andy, I bet you wouldn’t last two weeks in an Islamic-rule country until you’d have your head on the chopping block for all the freedom they’d be willing to give to you.

If Islam is a peace-loving country WHY is there ONLY ONE PLACE AND THATS GROUND ZERO that will satisfy their desire for a mosque?  There aren’t other places to go?  If they demonstrated the sensitivity to acquiesce I might be convinced we’ve misjudged but their insistence that its ground zero or else just reinforces my view and a lot of others that they haven’t been misunderstood at all.  The problem is some of us understand them all too well.

Good luck surviving without a head, maybe people like Daniel Pearl can give you some pointers on how to do that.

One other thing Mr Geller, if you want to consign yourself and your children to a life under Sharia Law, thats on you. but you have no right to do the same to others living in this country since its foundation with an entirely different set of laws and values.

YOU are the racist Mr. Geller, NOT ME.

I agree with Sebastian, it’s complicated.  Race bating and simple minded comments will not help solve the problem.  The policy of prioritizing which illegal immigrant gets deported simply takes into account the federal government’s limited resources.  Mass deportation, as has been suggested by some, has already been tried, and has proven to lead to the unjust deportation of American citizens and racial profiling.  For some white people, this may not be a big deal and is a price they are willing to pay.  But for law abiding minorities, the prospect of getting deported can turn out to be a real problem.  A scalpel is needed, not a chainsaw.

The truth is that Mexicans speak Spanish, and Arabic IS a language, and it’s “Obama” not “obma”.

You’re not a good person, Anne. Work on yourself. What’s wrong with Spanish? It’s one of your OFFICIAL LANGUAGES! OF AMERICA!

Obama will do almost anything he can to keep those voters in place.  Further, he will cherry pick the laws to the last days of his administration.  He is very, very clearly a President that does NOT represent the people.

The law is clear: deport the illegal aliens.  Further, 70% plus support that law.  When it is NOT enforced, isn’t it clear the riots in Los Angeles are the consequences as the illegal aliens move to stop enforcement of the law?
http://books.google.com/books?id=ImAK1iJ-VAAC&printsec=frontcover&dq=illegal+aliens&source=bll&ots=HqYjL4rlfa&sig=5RXi6ejQTN-1QPwLSX5NKRbR6s8&hl=en&ei=puaMTP_IFYygsQPD2-izBA&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=23&ved=0CIMBEOgBMBY#v=onepage&q&f;=false

We don’t need a President that Cherry Picks the laws.  We do need a new President.  Further, we need a Congress that ALSO disapproves of Cherry Picking the laws.

Your country has drug dealers selling crack and heroin on a great percentage of your city streets and corners. The law is clear - send them to jail. Yet the streets are always full of drug dealers. Why?

Because you just can’t send them all to jail. It’s not feasible. Same with deporting everyone.

The article explains that your country is deporting more people than ever… Yet as usual, you ignore the facts altogether and say whatever you were going to say before you read the article.

What’s wrong with Spanish? Absolutely nothing.  I took two years of Spanish in high school and I am perfectly aware that Mexicans speak Spanish.

Your suggestion that there’s nothing wrong with forcing US citizens who’ve spoke English all their life to learn to speak Spanish is exactly the kind of thinking that so exemplifies “give an inch - take a mile”.  Because I do believe that there are those who would love to change our country’s official language to their own, they haven’t been secretive about it.

Your simple-minded vision of all of us speaking Spanish in 10 years instead of English is the personification of runaway liberalism.  If it were up to you, we wouldn’t just open the borders that would be just the beginning and soon I venture that it would no longer be legal to celebrate the 4th of July, and I have a problem with that and so would you if you were a truly patriotic American.

Anne

Sep. 12, 2010, 6:43 p.m.

Let’s take a vote tonight.  How many Americans vote that we should help illegal Mexican immigrants feel more at home by graciously learning to speak Spanish?

Is that what we do when we visit a foreign country?  Expect Germans to abandon their mother tongue and speak English.  Expect the French to do an about face and embrace English in place of it.  How welcome do you think we would be in a foreign country if after we got there we started protesting we don’t like the citizens of Italy speaking Italian?

Get real.  There is nothing racist about expecting my country to continue speaking English but their something traitorous about anyone who says we have no right to English or any of our customs for that matter.

So don’t forget the sign of the times: American children suspended from school for wearing the American flag, that’s shameful.

Hello, I’m an immigrant my self. I came from Europe 8 years ago, I was 18 at that time. For all these years I’ve been here, i have payed taxes every year and gone through school, and succeeded in live. I applied for a green card and still haven’t gotten it. I came in this country for good reasons, for a better future. America is based on immigrants. All you guys that commented above me, just think of your family tree. I am sure some one in your family migrated form a different country, think that they had to go through all this and now you are born here and you don’t understand what it means for an immigrant to work hard and achieve their goals for many years and then sent home. Separate mothers from their child because the child was born here and the mother wasn’t. Does any of you have a foreigner friend that works hard and has never caused any trouble in this country, how would you feel if they got deported? No body understands that.  No body is taking your jobs away, immigrants work very hard. And they are the ones that do all the Shiite jobs..
I understand if they are here to cause trouble and do crimes, yes they should be sent home, but if you have been here for so long and done everything right why should you be sent home? Why destroy the future of so many good families and kids that might have been born in a different country but raced here.. So i don’t agree with anybody that says: “send them all back”.

Thinking with the head between your legs that tells you that you can “explore” without complicate consequences sounds like someone who runs the risk of creating another life, another human being, but is too interested in uncomplicated consequences to care for said child.  another welfare case.

Lets see extending Bush tax cuts to the wealthy, employment in the tank, poor folks looking at paying an upcoming healthcare tax, no foreseeable up tick in employment, foreclosures continue, higher prices at the pump and grocery store etc. Yet the Obama Administration wants to add 20 - 30 million Illegals to the mix. Now that will surely solve our problems.

Granting this back door Amnesty will not solve the flow of Illegals it is instead a call for all to come and they will. Folks who continue to equate this human migration to the immigrants of the past are truly misguided. If America was in the position of a rebirth of a type of industrial revolution then we as a nation could be more generous, however we are not and probably never again.

The writing is on the wall folks. As a Latino gent said one day recently at a coffee shop in Apache Junction, AZ as he tried to sell me homemade burrito’s that the U.S. is going down.

If we don’t heal America economically then this old Mexican may very well be right. We can’t heal her if we can’t educate our children, provide jobs for America’s citizens. The continued drain on social services, education, food stamps, healthcare, criminal justice system, etc and the natural born American common man/woman will be relegated for ever to the bottom rung.

Allowing immigration based on already defined rules should be the only course we take. Immigration based on need and immigrants that add value.

No one should take pride in any Fed Administration that spends its time trying to figure out ways to circumvent law that they took an oath to uphold. That administration should be held accountable. When they take the oath of office they are agreeing to uphold the laws and protect the citizens of this sovereign nation. The Obama Administration is doing neither and for that matter nor did the last Bush Administration.

I believe States who wish to protect their citizens and citizens rights should secede. I predict if AZ proclaimed they were seceding they would then have plenty of troops on the ground however they would be in AZ to arrest the natural born citizens of the State that support seceding while opening the border and welcoming Mexico’s masses.

Give me a break folks, wake up.

Anne

Sep. 16, 2010, 10:39 a.m.

I agree with you and I am disgusted that an American president would sue a State for doing what it had to in order to protect its border and its people.  I would vote for seccession hands down.  this is not the America I grew up in and I don’t feel my best interests are of concern to anyone.  This country is run by politicians who have no clue about what it takes to make it in America today.  Were it not for people who fought and died for this country in its defense and in defense of freedom I would say to hell with America.  To hell with what and who America is today.  I have nothing but contempt for all the people in Washington DC and all the bankers who got their bailouts and are doing fine now and who mock those of us still struggling.

I used to think he was a jerk.  Now Randy Weaver is my hero.  He knew he did not fit in with society and so he tried to leave it.  But the Federales, the thugs wouldn’t let him so they killed his family.
