feinberg finally admited in an interview with a small publication that he is holding 2,000 claims in florida for proximity to the oil spill.  he doesnt know what to do with all the businesses and individuals that are suffering do to the drop of tourism from the perception of oil on their beaches.  gee feinberg i guess our sales have been down 30-35% every month since may because the stars are not aligned correctly.

I spoke with a REAL claims adjustor in one of the field offices a few days ago.  I have rental property, and he said to do this:  file a 6-months emergency claim.  Guess at your losses.  Then e-mail the GCCF and tell them you are changing your claim from a one-month to a six-month.  If you’ve already received any money at all, then also send in the Supplementary Request Form and there is a place there to declare the amount you have already received.  He told me this is what the GCCF wants us to do - but of course no one told us that!  Then, whenever you want to make the Final Claim - by August 2013 - you can at that time request $ for further losses.  After 11/23/10 they are no longer accepting the one-month or the six-month Emergency Claims.  Who wrote these policies???

i filed on 8/23 and received a smal fraction of my claim.  i work as a team with another person and we make the same amount of money to the penny and suffered the same losses.  she received 3 times as much money as i did and she got it faster.  we both lost thousands this summer as we work directly on the beach as condo cleaners and you can’t get any closer than that.  we were let go from our jobs 2 weeks ago because we were both sick from Corexit poisoning and our company didn’t want to deal with it because of our upcoming Shrimp Festival.  Our beaches ares covered with oil, the rocks, jettys and buoys are covered with oil… oil mixed with Corexit, a highly toxic cancer causing substance.  South Florida has had a down turn in business for 2 years, except for the panhandle, they have had no oil, yet they are second to Louisiana in claims paid.  i can go down to gulf shores beach right now, stick my hand in the sand and come up with degraded oil. Feinberg’s system is a mess and the fallout from this spill has not even begun to hit.  The 9/11 first responders are only getting their money now after 9 years.  Feinberg is a major tool, he is a heartless, cretin.

Gee

Oct. 5, 2010, 4:28 p.m.

First I filed in June with BP, NOTHING, then GCCF took over and I refiled 8/23! It is still under review, my last call as of yesterday the rep said, she was escalating it and call back in 48 hours and it should be completed. Ok, let’s see, if it changes from under review, my gawd, may as well had took out a loan from Bernie before he went to the slammer!

Oct. 5, 2010, 5:59 p.m.

I spoke to a persone today who handles escalated claims his name is nekito. He told me the final stag of review takes 2 to 4 weeks.not awsome but honest.its good to know somthing.

Ps the gccf sucks

Terri

Oct. 5, 2010, 6:03 p.m.

To Rachel

It was not a spoof letter. I asked Senator Lemieux to help me and this was the information he got from whoever is his contact at GCCF. BTW..they are still saying my claim is “under review” when the senator told me it was denied on September 28. I believe the senator. I also believe that my claim was never actually reviewed. If it was they’d know I am and was not a real estate agent and while I do live in Florida, I worked in AL.

Linda

Oct. 5, 2010, 6:09 p.m.

Well it takes from 2 to 4 wek to add a couple of numbers, and to let you know how much you get well dosen’t that sucks

Oct. 5, 2010, 7:13 p.m.

My 6 month “emergency payment” request was for $8990, all documented with tax returns, you name it.  They sent me a check for $1600.  Then, 2 weeks later, out of the blue, they sent me $4700.  Total of $6300, which is closer to $8990. but still shorts me $2690.  They said that’s all they are sending me based on my documentation.  That’s bull.  So I guess I will be suing…and get this, they want me to hurry and file a “final payment claim” and include the $2690 they owe me in it.  Yeah right.  First they need to make good on the $2690 then we can think about making a final claim.  These people must think we are really stupid.

Escalating it and call back in 48 hours and it should be completed….is bull shit!!! I have been on a escalating status for three weeks now…..I ma giving up they win!! I am just a woman who cleans toliets for a living and when the tourist stop coming to the Florida beaches I lost income….I have lost my apartment, my income until season starts again in Feb. Living in my truck until they repo that. Hope those claim adjusters are sleeping well at night…shame on BP for letting the same consumer down that help build their empire by being a loyal consumer….Thanks for backing me up!!!

darryl does your claim say under review or what does it say? What do the adjusters say about it?

Rachel

Oct. 10, 2010, 2:49 p.m.

If your claim still says “under review” and you filed from August 23rd to September 10th and you have not been paid….then your claim was denied and they are prolonging the letters sent out till close to the November 23rd deadline.  They are waiting to do a mass deny till the middle of November.  This way if you file with the NPFC you will have to wait 90 days from the date you were notified.  They are controlling every aspect of this claim process.  My claim was denied on the 7th of October and it still says Under review.  When I call the claim center they still tell me they are working on it.  I have proof they spent only 45 seconds on my claim when making the decision.  45 Seconds!!!

Kris

Oct. 10, 2010, 3:45 p.m.

—Rachel how did you find out your claim was denied.. Who told you that info?

Rachel

Oct. 10, 2010, 5:06 p.m.

Kris
A claims rep from Feinbergs office called me on Thursday.  She said it was deemd ineligable not denied.  I didn’t meet the 6 month emergency payment status but I could file for a final claim.  This is what they are doing….pushing some large loss business claims to the final proces so they can try to keep down how much they pay us.  I filed a business claim.

hi mike mine says under review, i checked the stats and it says need more information, so i called a super, and they had it down on their computer too that it needed more and under review both, so they fixed it so both are under review, to see yours go to stats on their site and look up your state and click on claimant details , there are many , so on the right type your claim number in the box , open up little window next to it , you will see banocks there click on it , another window wil open to the left check all and start search and when it finds yours ,all the way to the left will say your status , under review or need more info, or paid, , im finding alot are still saying need more info , cause they have to change that or the adjusters will think its not ready when they open it on their end.

if you look up the stats you will see they are still pying lots of old claims and new ones too at the same time, their computer skipped over thousands of us on reviewing our claims in the begining,  it will take time, they are doing both so they can caught up , they are over 130,000 claims now, when we started it was only less then 30,000, so there is alot, theyare changing the rules again , you dont have to be by the water anymore thanks to crist and the fl attorney generals office, so hang in their people,
