Yesterday we published our investigation into New York's flawed system of attorney oversight, which routinely failed to identify, punish and deter prosecutors who abuse their authority. Misconduct by New York prosecutors has allowed the guilty to be released, and put the innocent behind bars.

Reporters Joaquin Sapien (@jbsapien) and Sergio Hernandez (@cerealcommas) were joined by Bennett Gershman of Pace University (who "literally wrote the book" on prosecutorial misconduct) to answer your questions. Do prosecutors ever face criminal charges for misconduct? How could the system be reformed? Check out the discussion below, along with tips for reporters hoping to investigate the issue in their home state.
