Chisun Lee Discusses Judicial Secrecy and Gitmo Legal Proceedings
This week on the ProPublica Podcast, reporter Chisun Lee talks about the use of judicial secrecy in U.S. courts and some of the key legal issues involved with the Guantánamo Bay detainees.
In the first half of the podcast, Lee breaks down what judicial secrecy is, the circumstances under which court cases are sealed and the apparent increase of sealed decisions in U.S. courts. In the second half, Lee discusses the Guantánamo Bay cases, the reasons the government has lost many of the cases, and why after winning, some detainees have yet to be released.
