PBS's NOW Explores Preventive Detention

(U.S. Army Sgt. Sara Wood)Tonight, our friends at NOW on PBS are taking a closer look at the ongoing debate over indefinitely detaining alleged terrorists and how they are treated. The program references reporting ProPublica's Dafna Linzer and Chisun Lee did on the legal and political tensions behind preventive detention policies. And in this interview, host David Brancaccio talks to a government prosecutor who refused to participate in the case of a detainee who he believed had been tortured.

For more information on tonight's program, visit NOW's site. And be sure to check out ProPublica's new "Detention Dilemma" section to read all of our reporting on the Obama administration's struggles, court battles and interrogation problems surrounding this issue.
