The Online News Association nominated ProPublica as a finalist for three of its 2011 Online Journalism Awards, which highlight innovation and excellence in digital storytelling.
Specifically, ProPublica was recognized as a finalist for General Excellence in Online Journalism, Small Site—a category it won in 2009. Our Dialysis and Dollars for Docs series were also each nominated for the Gannett Foundation Award for Innovative Investigative Journalism, Small Site. This award honors stories that uncover major news based on the reporters' own exclusive investigations or offer compelling and original analysis and interpretation.
You can view a full list of nominees on the ONA website. The results will be announced on September 24. Best of luck to everyone involved.
