The National Association of Black Journalists named five ProPublica projects as nominees for the Salute to Excellence Awards:
“Deleting DEI” was nominated in the digital media – business category.
“Sick in a Hospital Town” was nominated in the online project: feature category.
“Criminal Justice Rollback: How Louisiana is Keeping People in Prison,” a Local Reporting Network collaboration with Verite News, was nominated in the online project: news category.
“‘Ticking Time Bomb’: A Pregnant Mother Kept Getting Sicker. She Died After She Couldn’t Get an Abortion in Texas.” was nominated in the digital media – single story: news category.
“‘I Don’t Feel Safe’: Black Memphis Residents Report Harassment by Trump’s Police Task Force,” a Local Reporting Network collaboration with MLK50: Justice Through Journalism was nominated in the newspaper – newsroom staff of 50 & below – news: single story category.
