Help ProPublica Reporters Investigate the Immigration System

We need your help to find productive ways to examine the country’s immigration system — what’s working and what isn’t. We especially want to hear from federal workers, attorneys, employers, labor advocates and ESL teachers.

As this year’s presidential election approaches, ProPublica’s team of investigative reporters is looking for productive ways to examine the country’s immigration system — what’s working and what isn’t.

That’s where you come in. We want insights from people who have experience with the system and its consequences. Our journalism is always propelled by the people who share their observations, advice and inside knowledge with us. Please fill out this form to sign up to become a part of our network of sources. We may contact you with questions related to your expertise.

In addition to joining our network, please feel free to use this form to share story ideas. We're open to ideas big and small, about the politics standing in the way of rational fixes and the people who are carrying the weight of the system’s failings on their shoulders. We are particularly interested in learning more about the industries and states that rely on immigrant workers, including those with work permits and those who are undocumented. If you have a tip about something specific happening in your community or the agency where you work, or if you have records you are able to share, please let us know.

Our previous coverage has examined the political machine funneling billions to the southern border, investigated the dangerous working conditions immigrants encounter across the country and exposed the real-world impacts of failed federal policies and the children caught within them.

We appreciate you sharing, and we take your privacy seriously. We are gathering this input for the purposes of our reporting, and we will contact you if we wish to publish any part of your story.

If your tip is especially sensitive, check out our list of secure contact tools, including Signal and postal mail. If not, filling out this form is the easiest, most efficient way to get in touch with us. We are the only ones who read what you submit.

Our team may not be able to respond to everyone personally, but we will read everything you submit.
