A video of wretched conditions at a barracks in Fort Bragg is causing waves. Ed Frawley recently visited the barracks after his son returned from a 15-month tour in Afghanistan. What Frawley saw was sewage covering a bathroom floor, mold infesting the ceilings, and peeling (lead-based) paint throughout the barracks. Responding to the video, Senator Elizabeth Dole (R-N.C.) has sent a letter to the Secrectary of the Army. Meanwhile, a spokesman for the 82nd Airborne Division agreed that the conditions were "apalling and unacceptable." He also implicitly pointed a finger up the chain of command saying that the 82ND Division has to use the barracks the Army provides.
