Listen to Robin Fields Discuss Dialysis on Fresh Air & the Podcast
Today at 3 p.m., Robin Fields will be interviewed on Fresh Air with Terry Gross about her just published dialysis investigation. The two will discuss how the dialysis care system began, how effective it is, and how other countries handle it.
In addition to the Terry Gross interview, we taped a ProPublica Podcast with Robin to talk about the process of reporting on dialysis. In that we looked at how and why she began the investigation, how she got around the lack of transparency with government data and how she works with some of her sources.
We hope you’ll listen to both programs.

My husband is on dialysis since March 2010 and he has had a few bad experiences and I am afraid every day that he has to go to dialysis especially after reading your report. Thank you for your excellent and thorough report.

I have been a nephrologist since 1967 and I continue to practice in Orange County, CA. My career covers the earliest dissemination of this technique and the evolution of health care as a profession, to helath care as an industry, and a profit point. These are concerns that focus my energies and my ethics. Robin Fields has done a superb job in describing the field of dialysis as it exists. I do not disagree with a single thought expressed. Bravo!

I have a friend who has been on hemodialysis for 40 years!
All of us who are her friends, and she has many, would like to know who and what is the longest duration/survivor on hemodialysis?
