Marshall Allen wins National Headliner Award

ProPublica’s newest reporter, Marshall Allen, has received a National Headliner award for “Do No Harm: Hospital Care in Las Vegas” – a project for the Las Vegas Sun. The series, which recently won a Goldsmith award, placed first in the Investigative Reporting category and won ‘Best of Show’ for print.

‘Do No Harm’ represented more than two years of reporting and revealed how patients are infected or injured while hospitalized in Las Vegas. It was based on a review of 2.9 million patient-billing records, which had gone unexamined until the Sun obtained them.
