ProPublica Hires Seattle Times’s Hannah Birch as Web Producer

New York, NY – Aug. 13, 2014 – ProPublica announced today that Hannah Birch, an associate news producer at The Seattle Times, will join its staff in mid-September as a web producer.

"The caliber and collaborative nature of ProPublica's work has caught my eye for a long time,” Birch said. “I'm thrilled to be joining such a forward-thinking organization that still holds dear the traditional tenets of public-service journalism."

Birch, who has a BA in journalism and media studies from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, was previously a copy editor at The Times. In her current role, she focuses on homepage production and digital projects.

“We’re thrilled to have Hannah join the ProPublica team,” said David Sleight, ProPublica's design director. “Her talent and enthusiasm will be an invaluable asset as we grow and refine our online presence."
