My Background
I joined ProPublica as a senior editor in 2021. I’ve served as editor in chief of the L.A. Weekly, senior projects editor at the Los Angeles Times, editor in chief of Los Angeles magazine, editor in chief of The American Prospect and senior editor at California Sunday Magazine. I’ve edited stories that went on to win the Pulitzer Prize, the Livingston Award, the George Polk Award and the James Beard award, among others. I’ve also edited a number of books, including The New York Times bestseller “The Color of Law” by Richard Rothstein.
