Our hydraulic fracturing graphic makes an appearance in released documents.

We’ve been poring through the natural gas drilling documents that the New York Times obtained from the Environmental Protection Agency – and published on the newspaper’s website Sunday – and were flattered to find this one. For ProPublica readers who don’t immediately recognize it, it’s a copy of the first graphical depiction of the hydraulic fracturing process that we commissioned from illustrator Al Granberg at the start of our 100-story-series on the topic.
