Live at 6:30 ET: New Solutions for the Water Crisis with ProPublica, Discovery & New America NYC

Today ProPublica, in partnership with Discovery and New America NYC, is co-hosting a discussion on the causes of water scarcity in the U.S., as well as innovative ideas and opportunities for solving the crisis. Based on a ProPublica investigation and Discovery documentary, the free event – entitled “Liquid Assets: Can Wall Street Save the Water Crisis?” – will have an expert panel explore whether capitalism offers a solution to water insecurity.

Moderated by Sharon Burke, senior advisor for New America’s Resource Security Program, the panel includes Abrahm Lustgarten, senior reporter for ProPublica; Disque Deane, Jr., chief investment officer and co-founder of Water Asset Management; Upmanu Lall, director of Columbia University’s Water Center; and Cannon Michael, president of Bowles Farming Company.
