Lisa Riordan Seville is ProPublica’s senior producer for video and film.

Prior to ProPublica, she spent more than a decade as an independent reporter and producer. Her work for NBC News has been recognized by a Peabody, a Hillman Award and a Sigma Delta Chi Award. Her writing has appeared in New York magazine, The Guardian, BuzzFeed News and The New Republic.

“A Woman on the Outside,” her feature documentary directed with Zara Katz, premiered at the 2022 SXSW Film Festival and won numerous awards, including Best Documentary at the 2022 American Black Film Festival. She is also the co-founder of the Instagram feed Everyday Incarceration.
