In partnership with WPLN/Nashville Public Radio.

Update: Today’s Instagram Live is canceled, but we still plan to bring you a conversation. Stay tuned for that soon. In the meantime, listen to Episode 3. Out now!

For over a decade, one Tennessee county illegally jailed hundreds of children. How did this happen?

"The Kids of Rutherford County," a new podcast from Serial Productions and The New York Times, in collaboration with ProPublica and WPLN Nashville Public Radio, unveils a juvenile court shrouded in confidentiality and privacy, which in turn allowed something secretive and illegal to grow. The four-part narrative podcast builds on a joint Local Reporting Network investigation by ProPublica and WPLN Nashville Public Radio.

Join us for an inside look at the investigation with host and Nashville Public Radio senior reporter and producer Meribah Knight and ProPublica assistant managing editor Sarah Blustain.
