What I Do
I help conceive, execute and publish impactful data-driven journalism by working with ProPublica news applications developers, our newsroom and our partners.
My Background
I joined ProPublica in August 2025 after more than 11 years at The Washington Post, most recently as a graphics assignment editor. In that role I oversaw data visualization and interactive stories about politics, government and policy. I was a driving force behind some of the Post’s most impactful visual journalism, serving as graphics editor on work that was a part of three Pulitzer Prizes, including the 2022 prize for coverage of the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.
I served as a graphics editor and project manager for a database-driven story that detailed the history of enslavers in Congress which won a Salute to Excellence award from the National Association of Black Journalists. I launched numerous trackers, including those that followed state abortion laws after the fall of Roe v. Wade and congressional vote counts on key legislation. My portfolio also included live election analysis and rapid text polling.
As a reporter in 2020, I conducted surveys to chronicle the policy positions of two dozen Democratic presidential candidates. I also originated the Post’s longstanding collaboration with the Partnership for Public Service, tracking hundreds of presidential appointees through the Senate confirmation process.
I have a journalism degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
