Full Draft of Admin. Proposal to Relax Toxin Rules

by Robert Lewis, ProPublica - July 24, 2008 2:59 pm EDT

Credit: ProPublicaWe've been following a Department of Labor proposed rule that would make it harder to pass regulations regarding workplace toxins and chemicals. As the Washington Post reported, the rule did not go through the normal process: It was not publicly disclosed and was drafted by a "political deputy in Labor's office of the assistant secretary for policy."

Earlier today we posted excerpts from an early draft of the proposed rule. Our source just sent us a version of the full rule they say is currently under review at the Office of Management and Budget.

Happy reading.
