ProPublica announced Thursday that Bekah Dickstein has been hired as assistant director for leadership gifts. In this role, Dickstein will work with our East Coast and Midwest donor communities, cultivating and sustaining relationships on behalf of ProPublica for continued investment in our investigative journalism.
Dickstein has over 15 years of experience in fundraising, working with major gift donors to align their philanthropic interests with the missions of the organizations she represented. She has worked at domestic and international nonprofits, managing and partnering with fundraisers to build capacity and support the growth of development teams alongside her front-line work. Prior to joining ProPublica, Dickstein held positions at the American Jewish World Service, Footsteps and Care USA.
“Bekah’s extensive experience building relationships and cultivating support for diverse nonprofit missions makes her an ideal fit for ProPublica’s ambitious plans,” said Jim Warycha, director of leadership gifts. “Her track record of success will be an incredible asset to our major-gift-development efforts.”
“It is an honor to join ProPublica at a moment when its mission is so critical,” said Dickstein. “I look forward to supporting our tenacious front-line reporters and growing the community of donors whose investment sustains our independent, truth-seeking journalism.”
