ProPublica announced Friday that Tracy Malloy-Curtis has been hired as director of planned giving. In this role, Malloy-Curtis will support initiatives to secure long-term, sustainable funding through gifts in wills and other planned gifts.
Malloy-Curtis has worked in philanthropy for more than 25 years, supporting sustainable funding development for nonprofits including the American Civil Liberties Union, International Rescue Committee, International Planned Parenthood Federation and Citizen Action. Prior to joining ProPublica, she was the vice president of legacy giving at Mal Warwick Donordigital, where she created strategic planned giving programs for more than a dozen mission-driven nonprofits. Malloy-Curtis has a J.D. cum laude from Case Western Reserve University School of Law and presents and writes nationally on subjects relating to philanthropy, how fundraising systems shape behavior and why thoughtful development programs can unlock trust and generosity from supporters.
“We’re incredibly fortunate to have Tracy join ProPublica,” said Chief Development Officer Ragan Rhyne. “She’s not only one of the most respected voices in planned giving nationally, but also someone who believes deeply in the power of journalism to serve the public good. Her leadership will be instrumental in strengthening our long-term sustainability and helping more supporters invest in our future.”
“I’m grateful and honored to play a role in ensuring that ProPublica’s critical reporting is supported now and into the future,” said Malloy-Curtis
