ProPublica's investigation, "A Betrayal," in partnership with New York magazine, won the Society of Professional Journalists' Ethics in Journalism Award. The judges commended reporter Hannah Dreier's "exemplary work in covering the challenges faced by a young gang member who secretly became a government informant" and her above and beyond effort to protect his well-being and identity.
