ProPublica’s 2023 Annual Report: Accountability — From the Statehouse to the Highest Court

In ProPublica’s annual report for 2023, President Robin Sparkman and Editor-in-Chief Stephen Engelberg detail the real-world change sparked by our journalism, including the historic reforms prompted by our unrelenting reporting on influence and ethics at the Supreme Court.

Sparkman and Engelberg also take note of several other milestones marked in our newsroom’s 15th year and share a note of gratitude for the year ahead:

We opened a new reporting hub in the Northwest, we launched an editor training program to increase the ranks of investigative editors from diverse backgrounds, and we published our first interview with a sitting president.

As the news industry experiences yet another wave of volatility and America braces for another contentious election season, we appreciate, to an even greater degree, how much our work is only possible through your support.

Read about our impact in the areas of housing, health, criminal justice, environment and more in ProPublica’s 2023 Annual Report.
