I’m a documentary photographer and visuals editor.
Before joining ProPublica, I was the visuals editor at High Country News magazine, where my visual storytelling collaborations received recognition from the American Society of Magazine Editors, American Photography, American Illustration, Indigenous Journalists Association and others.
My work as a photographer has been published and exhibited widely and has been supported by the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting, Blue Earth Alliance, Society for Environmental Journalists, Puffin Foundation and others. Among other recognition, I’ve been a finalist for a National Magazine Award in photojournalism, have been a Scripps Fellow in Environmental Journalism at the University of Colorado Boulder, and am the recipient of the 2026 University of Notre Dame Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies Distinguished Alumni Award.
