Fan Fei is a Google Journalism Fellow at ProPublica. She graduated from the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism in May.
Before that, she graduated from Fudan University with a bachelor degree in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Economics. Previously, she interned with the Economist and the New York Times Shanghai Bureau. She is a recipient of 2015 Asian American Journalism Scholarship.
From 2000 to 2014, the average cost of in-state tuition and fees for public colleges in America rose 80 percent. During that same time period, the median American household income dropped by 7 percent.
