Each year, ProPublica strives to bring readers journalism that serves the public interest. While our investigations tackle complex issues and powerful institutions, they also impact the public in very personal ways. Our work in 2013 speaks to the experiences of millions of Americans: patients and families, temporary laborers, borrowers, college students and interns, the sick and elderly, flood victims and many others. In pursuing journalism in the public interest, our newsroom strives for accountability on behalf of all of these people. We seek accountability on your behalf. And that is why we need your help.
