Document Dive: Politicians and Pardons

In May, ProPublica filed a Freedom of Information Act request with the Justice Department's Office of the Pardon Attorney seeking the following: “Access to and copies of all correspondence, including e-mail, exchanged between OPA and any current and former elected local, state, or federal official, or that official’s office, relating to pardon applicants, between January 20, 2001 and the present.” Names of applicants whose cases have been decided are included in the correspondence; the names of petitioners with pending cases were redacted. Search by elected official, below. Who wrote the most? See our chart.
